Linda L. West, CPDT is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and is certified by the Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and has her degree in Animal Science from Colorado State University. She has been operating Dogs Ltd & Training in Bend, Oregon since 2006. West was formerly the In-House Dog Trainer and Education Coordinator for the Humane Society of Redmond, Oregon. She left the shelter in 2007 to pursue her specialty as training dogs to be excellent pets and companions. Her work and training experiences include: * Training and performing with Sea Lions at the Miami Seaquarium. * First response Search and Rescue with man-trailing Bloodhounds at Big Bend National Park. * USFS Back Country Ranger/Law Enforcement in the Targhee National Forest in Idaho with her Standard Poodle "Bruce." As a dog trainer West is dedicated to teaching dogs and their owners how to achieve a well-socialized dog. West is a member of the Association of Professional Humane Educators and is committed to training pet dogs and dog training education in the community. As a dog trainer, West uses compassionate dog training focusing on motivation and control.
She focuses on training that encourages the dog to think and choose the right behaviors that the owner wants. West focuses on the dog training philosophy that dogs repeat behaviors that get them what they want and they stop doing the behaviors that don't get them what the want. West focuses in developing communications and relationships between dogs and their owners.
